Amanda is a curious and creative world citizen who from the age of 6 experienced what it was like to search for her worth outside of herself. Believing it would be the next weight loss diet, house, course, job title, partner or travel destination that would fulfill her heart.
As we approach Xmas and the season of gifts, I’m reminded of a comment made by a man I spoke recently. He talked about self-worth “as the most valuable gift I have ever discovered: more precious than anything I could ever be given”.

Remember the days following 9/11? The “tornado effect” – cancelled flights, meetings, and total paralysis of investment. Back then, my entire pipeline evaporated in less than 7 days.
Whenever I own up to feelings of social anxiety (for example about networking or cocktail parties), I can see that people don’t really believe me. On the surface, they probably see a facade of confidence, or hear some Irish humour, from which they conclude I’m somehow in my natural habitat in these environments.
